January, beginning of the year and ending of the volunteering

As expected, this month was very fast. I spent approximately 2 weeks in Camprovín and tried to enjoy every moment to the fullest. The week-ends have been filled with hiking, talking, laughing, dancing, discovering new places. On the 19th there has been the the open rehearsal of the show Animales by the ARSIDO's stable group, it was a fun moment, also stressful and we got messed up because everyone was a bit lost. I wish we had managed it better but this group is amazing and spending time with them is always a pleasure. After we made a Karaoke in the bar, because yes we managed to convince Ruben to organize it in his bar and it was a lot of fun. We reunited with the girls to say goodbye, to dance and eat together. I went to Malaga with Annika for a week for the mid-term training, which was 5 days before the end of my volunteer so it was more an ending training for me. We were a lot of young people, I felt overwhelmed and not at ease in this situation, which surprised me but I got t

December on the run

I started December with holidays with my family in France for a week. I've got to admit that this month was a lot about going back and forth to France, for personal reasons. I missed the Christmas performance and market, which made me sad because I really want to enjoy the last moments I have in Camprovín with everyone and I feel like I'm missing a lot already. I've had the news that I've been hired for a job as a cultural mediator in France in February. I was really happy and surprised of this news, I can't say no to this kind of opportunity. My volunteering with On&Off helped me feeling better with myself, knowing new persons, begin involved in art projects and performances, living in Camprovín allowed me to heal and grow with more serenity, motivation and desires. I felt more confident about the future, perceiving it with a more positive mind and that has been a great mental change.  Then I had one week in Camprovin before Christmas, we shared a lot of good m

November, in the cart of happiness

Timothée was still here on the first days of November, it felt good to be inside with the warmth of the heating. Playing games, watching movies. Julio arrived in the house, he's a nice roommate.  Elisa planned to organize weekly meetings for mentoring and explaining more the work we have to do. It's a great  initiative, she really listens to us and searches for ideas to improve our working conditions and feelings.  I went back to France for bringing Timothée back and the birthday of a friend, it was really nice. I was looking forward coming back to Camprovin to spend more time there and the second half of November has been amazing. On the week-end we went for olive picking with Julio, Chiara and Annika in Inma's fields, then we ate altogether in their casa rural, it was such a nice moment, I felt part of the village. The next weeks we prepared Fair Saturday against Black Friday and consumption and 25N against gender violence. We organized a second hand market with the cloth

October, (too?) warm autumn and variety of activities

October started with a beautiful weather, too good to feel normal. We felt like we were in summer and this warmth was appreciable but it got me anxious, we can already feel global warming and it's terrifying.  Apart from this feeling of world ending, we started the routine of the theater workshops. I discovered with enthusiasm the different groups and the way Silvia handles the workshops.  I had to come back to France for two days for an appointment and every time I go back to my hometown I feel like it breaks a bit the dynamic of the volunteering. I want to stay more in Camprovín to really enjoy the experience and not feel always disconnected. Also when I am in France I feel like my family don't understand really what I'm doing in Camprovín and why, there don't ask me that much question and I feel like it's blur for them. That's why I think it would be better if I managed to live fully the experience here and then come back in France for real.  Then there were

The new chapter of September

I've started this month by moving house with Mary Grace and Chiara. I feel comfortable in this new space, and we'll be able to spend more time together, talking about projects, ideas and activities. Summer is slowly fading and autumn is starting to show its first signs. We celebrated Mary's birthday on the 5th, it was a really nice moment. We have a lot of introspection and deep conversations with the girls, it's like a constant group therapy, we go for walks, do sports, cook together, it feels super good.  The work was mostly office hours during this month, as the theater workshops will start again on October. It was actually a lot of fun and let us nice free time in the afternoons.  To start with San Mateo week, which is public holiday, I went to la fête de l'Humanité in Paris with my friends, that was such a nice experience, it might seem stupid but I didn't expect so many people and things to do! We had the opportunity to participate in debates, listen to co

A vibrant and soothing August

The warmth of August is in full swing, we are in the middle of Rural Art Summer and I'm enjoying every moment. The fruits we can pick outside are juicy and sweet, I feel free and joyful.  We organize and take part in workshops of theater, origami, communication, games, barbecue, yoga, massage, drawing. For 3 days we had theater workshops, including one I proposed with Alexia on the theme of emotions, where we did exercises and then prepared for the performance organized by Marta. She came up with the idea of doing an unannounced performance in the village bar on the theme of rumors and machismo, and on the day of the performance we were pretty stressed out because this is a difficult theme to deal with and none of the locals knew about it. It was quite liberating to do it, but we're not sure we were heard. In any case, it was a powerful and important experience for us. There are plenty of things to do and see, the atmosphere is calmer after the intensity of Camprovinarte's

My first month as a volunteer - July and its winged shoes

Hello I'm Elisa, I come from the south west of France and I'm very excited about this new chapter of my life. I wanted to practice spanish and do theater, this project seemed to fit perfectly! 🙌 I can't believe how quickly the month of July has flown by, I've experienced so much in such a short time and feel very lucky to be part of this volunteer program. I'm sure I won't be able to retrace everything that's happened, what I've lived, thought and experienced, but if I had to sum up this first month at Camprovin I'd say intense, creative, full of encounters and joy.  I arrive in Camprovin at the end of the day, by car, as I'm 3 hours from my parents' home in the Basque country. I'm greeted by Annika, a German volunteer who's been here for 2 months. She shows me around the village and invites me to dine together on the terrace of the apartment she shares with Elise and Marta, as well as the office. We speak a lot and I already feel su
